Conhecido como "o Oscar das séries", o Emmy Awards realizou sua 76ª edição na noite de domingo (15), no Peacock Theater, em Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos. A premiação teve início às 21h. No Brasil, foi possível acompanhar a transmissão pelo canal pago TNT e pela plataforma de streaming Max. 

Os apresentadores da noite foram os atores Eugene Levy e Dan Levy, pai e filho que são as estrelas da multipremiada série de comédia Schitt's Creek (2015-2020). Entre as celebridades que subiram ao palco para entregar os prêmios estão nomes como Selena Gomez, Colin Farrell, Antony Starr, Steven Yeun, Damon Wayans, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Billy Crystal, Lily Gladstone, Maya Rudolph, Gael García Bernal, Steve Martin, Dick Van Dyke, Mindy Kaling e Kathy Bates.

A campeã de indicações neste ano foi Xógum: A Gloriosa Saga do Japão, que liderou o ranking sendo indicada a 25 categorias, entre técnicas e artísticas. No último final de semana, a série conquistou 14 distinções nas categorias técnicas, elevando as expectativas por uma hegemonia na disputa pelas categorias principais. 

Porém, na cerimônia deste domingo, Xógum decepcionou ao faturar apenas quatro estatuetas — melhor série de drama, melhor ator (Hiroyuki Sanada) e melhor atriz (Anna Sawai) em série de drama e melhor direção em série de drama. 

A produção ficou empatada com a segunda temporada de O Urso e Bebê Rena, que também conquistaram quatro estatuetas cada. 

Nas categorias de comédia, O Urso levou os prêmios de melhor ator (Jeremy Allen White), melhor ator coadjuvante (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), melhor atriz coadjuvante (Liza Colón-Zayas) e melhor direção (Christopher Storer). 

Já Bebê Rena venceu como melhor minissérie, melhor ator (Richard Gadd), melhor atriz coadjuvante (Jessica Gunning) e melhor roteiro (Richard Gadd) nas categoria dedicada a minisséries, antologias ou filmes para TV. 

Uma das surpresas da noite foi Hacks, que desbancou O Urso em três categorias. A produção venceu como melhor série de comédia, melhor atriz em série de comédia (Jean Smart) e melhor roteiro em série de comédia (Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs e Jen Statsky).
